The association was created in response to a real need discovered during the Second Lebanon War in 2009 when all shops were closed, and markets were also closed as a result of the war. People were sitting in shelters. Who are these people? They are those who could not escape, go to the center, a hotel, or a family that would have welcomed them outside the northern region. They are people whose fate forced them to stay in the city under fire, defend themselves, and take care of their family's lives. Of course, this was impossible. By fate and following Rabbi Shimon Pinto's visit to the shelters during an emergency operation of Magen David Adom at the time, he saw people without food and could not remain indifferent. He turned to friends who immediately took up the challenge and came to the aid primarily with food for these families. They received everything they needed, and everything returned to normal in peace.
Following this, Rabbi Shimon Pinto's efforts were already known in the city, and after the end of the war, people in distress turned to him for help. The increasing number of requests forced the rabbi to found the "Mithabrim LaNeshama" association, which now provides assistance to over 8000 families across Israel.
Mr Emil Katan, a special businessman, with good manners and pleasant demeanor, president of the organization "Connect to the soul" Karmiel.
His teaching is, "to help anyone who needs it without any conditions, and it doesn't matter who it is, and what kind of person it is!" The fuel that motivates him to continue and increase kindness throughout the Land of Israel, is to see another smile on a person's face, when he receives a package of food (fruits, vegetables, dry goods and more), cleaning products, financial help, electrical products, poultry, meat. And any help that is able to help.
His whole purpose is for heaven's sake, not in order to get financial gain, or to get status and respect. He hides away from the dishes, sits in his office or at home and runs a modest charity organization, which distributes food and more every week to over 15,000 families (if we do a simple calculation, the number of people who benefit from it is close to 100,000 people, women and children!), regardless of whether they Observant Jews or ultra-Orthodox or Gentiles. The main thing is that there will be a person who needs help, he is the first one there to help and if he can't, he will make sure to send messengers for immediate help as much as possible. There is a verse in the Bible "A man who has none, salvation" every person who has none should be saved if it is in our power.
As his name is "small" it means that he is little, and so is he himself, he reduces himself in his measurements and behaves as a simple man, he does not see anyone as smaller than him, but Mr Emil Katan sees himself as small compared to those who stand in front of him. But his actions are much greater More than we think. If we say more praises, there is a fear that we may underestimate his value, or we may not praise the president of the organization as he deserves. That is why we will end with the words of Rabbi Eliezer the Great (chapters of Rabbi Eliezer chapter 16), "The Almighty said to the ministering angels, come and repay kindness to man and his helper, on the measure of kindness the world stands, as it is said: "I said, 'A world of kindness will be built'" (Psalms 5:3). And thanks to the giving of kindness, a person is saved from the torments of this world, and is granted paradise in the next world, and great is the giving of kindness that is done even to those who do not need it, the Almighty pays his reward. And he will try to save him from her.

As part of the extended organization "Mithabrim LaNeshama," which helps over 8000 families every month in all regions of the country, from the north to the center and south, the food distribution includes an extensive system of fruits, vegetables, dry goods (canned goods, oil, sugar, cereals, etc.), cleaning products, meats and poultry, wine for Kiddush, distribution of costumes before the Purim festival, of course, distribution of flour for Passover, dairy products for Shavuot, quality baskets for the New Year, donuts for Hanukkah, and more.
So, who are the volunteers? Individuals, groups of friends, and everything is done in a balanced manner. These volunteers come, feel that they are part of the action, and dedicate themselves to a sacred work by understanding and respecting the preservation of human dignity.
A comprehensive system of individual volunteers and even companies regularly engages in volunteer work.
These are people eager to give, help, and participate in the great value of giving. Anyone who comes to us, who knows the place, feels at home, and immediately connects to the action, experiencing the sense of mission and giving.
Within the organization, there is a warehouse of new and used clothing called "La Boutique," located in the former Carmiel shopping center, near the logistics center. This is where one can come to outfit the entire family, from head to toe, with shoes, pajamas, everyday clothing, children's toys, men's shirts, women's dresses, accessories, jewelry, and more. All of this is available without financial counterpart, free of charge.
We emphasize the organization and layout of the Boutique to resemble a high-end clothing store, so that families feel like they are receiving quality clothing.
The organization provides free hospitality to high-tech operations that distribute food baskets on the organization's site, all with the aim of enabling them to carry out food distribution for other families they support.
Our location is well-organized and accessible. We have a large space with excellent access for the distribution and storage of food items.
The organization also gladly welcomes anyone who wishes to come and participate in the distribution of food baskets on the organization's site from a logistical standpoint, making it easier for them to assist people in need.
This arose from the need for a large space with the ability to operate a complete system of volunteers and products on-site, organized with central access.
Companies such as Albeit and Meda come with volunteers and prepare food baskets at our organization.
The organization assists individuals who have strayed from the path and wish to correct their actions, such as inmates who have received community service or individuals with probation sentences from the court, by reintegrating them into normal life and encouraging them to help their environment.
The organization welcomes inmates performing community service with love, collaboration, and assistance towards others, promoting a perspective of voluntary and positive corrective measures.
They also learn the beauty of the world of contribution and giving, and we are pleased with the results.
The organization also includes volunteers, the 'כתר ראובן' (Crown of Reuben), who study for the elevation of the dear souls who have been taken from their families, sometimes prematurely and sometimes after a long life. Unfortunately, sometimes there is no one to offer a warm and loving welcome to these lost souls who are forgotten by the heart. May you find comfort from heaven, and may your sorrow not be added to; may the void left by your absence be filled.
During the process of creating a home. Some couples have financial difficulties paying for that wedding they have always dreamed of. We have a wonderful team of volunteers who will coordinate with the bride and groom in hopes of helping them reach the canopy.
Wedding dress designers donate dresses to us. Our team will help the bride adjust the dress to fit and ensure she feels comfortable and ready for the Chupa
